Project

Nestled to the East of Toorak and Armadale, Malvern is considered to be a wonderful inner suburb of Melbourne to live.  At just under 10kms from Melbourne’s Central Business District, and a population of around 10,000 people.

This Malvern East upper storey extension transpired from our clients need to accommodate their growing family.  The design brief was to provide spacious additional bedrooms whilst still paying homage to the original layout, physical shape and sense of the character of the existing home.

Even though Capital building are Design and Construct Builders, on this occasion our clients had provided their own designs. Due to height regulation limitations, the second-floor extension was nestled more into the existing roof structure. As the photos show, raked ceilings abound giving the whole extension an attic style look.

Three generous sized bedrooms with robes, a bathroom and a substantial gallery were all added to this second-floor extension.  Large angular, double glazed windows bring in maximum light and add to a sense of spaciousness.

The modern bathroom was fitted out with contemporary fittings and fixtures with wall to ceiling tiles, walk-in shower and large elegant niche which runs across the length of the shower wall Our clients and their family were so happy with Capital Buildings service and the quality of the end result, they wrote us a glowing review on Google.
