This Renovation project in Kew was an interesting one, being with a repeat Client. Capital Building have Extended and Renovated three other homes for this Client, and we were so pleased that they came back to us again. From the initial consultation, it was clear to us what the Owner was trying to achieve with this Renovation Project of their double storey home in Kew.

What made this Renovation Project even more interesting, was that it already had an existing second storey above and we had to devise a way to support the existing upper storey to undertake the works beneath. After a few tweaks and changes to the design, we managed to give the Owner a brand-new open plan Kitchen with Butler’s Pantry and Splashback Window, Living, Retreat area and a seamless transition between the newly renovated area and the existing home.

The new Garage, designed to sit at the rear of the house, provides the home with a sense of purpose and flow to its layout. Whist there, we updated the existing bathroom and first-floor retreat area, freshening it up and making it more usable.

The Kitchen and Living Area Renovation has come up wonderfully. The big sliding door between the new open plan space and the front of the house, provides the Owner with two separate areas, which is great for reducing heating and cooling bills, as both areas do not need to be serviced at the same time. But also perfect for entertaining, as the two areas can be closed off, keeping noise to a minimum in the other area.
