A single fronted Victorian home in the best part of Fitzroy is now new again.
Having lived for over 100 years, so far, this home was long overdue for some love and attention. Cracked plaster was falling off walls and ceilings were looking shabby due to the old leaking roof. Electrical wiring was scary and a 60s extension was so rickety it was ready to fall down.
Owners D and M, however, had a vision which would realize their homes’ true potential.
After a re-roof, new wiring, replaster and new spotted gum floor boards throughout, the old girl is new again. The original rear extension was demolished and replaced with a spacious Kitchen/Meals/Living area. The atrium style “roof light” lets in maximum light and provides for the full width use of the narrow 5 metre block. The Bathroom and laundry are also new and relocated between the bedrooms and the open plan living. As the photos show the transformation is spectacular and every available bit of space has been maximised.
We thank D and M for trusting us to renew and extend their home. We are as excited about the end result as they are. They also wrote us a great reference, see reviews.
